More than 40% of people will experience a mental health condition during their lifetime. Over 400,000 people live with dementia. Brain cancer claims more than 1500 lives a year, and around 700,000 people live with an acquired brain injury.

In 2026, three scientific societies at the forefront of neuroscience, neurology and psychiatry research - the Australasian Neuroscience Society, Biological Psychiatry and Australian Cognitive Neuroscience Society - will come together in a landmark event for the first time. The Australasian Neuroscience Alliance brings together the region’s leading brain research - from fundamental discovery to the development of life-changing therapies for brain disorders.  

Held at the stunning Hilton hotel, George Street, Sydney, we anticipate this meeting will attract 1000 Australian and international neuroscientists to Sydney, where for 4 days they will present and discuss cutting edge neuroscience discoveries and technologies, participate in public engagement activities, and foster future generations of neuroscientists.
